About the Competition

Open Mic celebrates stage poise, creative delivery, and artistic expression. Performers present original spoken word, acoustic singing, or comedy under a warm spotlight with live sound reinforcement.

Competition Format

Single-round live performance with a strict 4-5 minute stage time limit.

Event Flow & Schedule

Reporting & Audio Setup

Participants report prior to start time. Karaoke/backing tracks (MP3 on pen drive) must be submitted to coordinators at least 30 mins to 1 hour prior.

Live Performances

Participants perform sequentially before the audience and judging panel (4 to 5 minutes strict limit).

Rules & Regulations

Performance Time Limit: Strict time limit of 4 to 5 minutes per performer. Exceeding time leads to point deductions or audio cut.
Content & Decorum: Must maintain standard decency. Offensive language, hate speech, or inappropriate themes result in immediate disqualification and removal from stage.
Equipment & Instruments: Standard microphones and basic sound system provided. Participants must bring their own musical instruments if required.
Evaluation Criteria: Evaluated on confidence, stage presence, crowd engagement, voice/delivery quality, and overall entertainment value.
